Bear EDU

Inspiring Conservation through Education

Teaching the next generation about bears and the critical ecosystems they call home.

Why is Teaching kids about bears important?

We don’t need to tell you how important education is, and we believe that by adding bears to your curriculum you will help inspire your students to value and even help conserve bears and the ecosystems they call home.

Reading from a textbook or watching a movie about bears is all well and good, but having a conversation with bear experts while seeing captivating photographs and video is something on another level

Your class can play an important role in reducing one of the biggest issues facing bears today: human conflicts. Together we truly can make a difference!

Learn more about how bears find themselves getting into trouble by reading our blog: “What is Human-Bear Conflict and How Can I Help?

What can you and your class expect?

With our Education Advisory Board and your input we will help choose the right presentation for your students. A professional educator, scientist, bear guide, or photographer will visit with you virtually beforehand to give you an overview of the time time, and then they will join your class at the determined time that fits into your schedule.

Through support from our sponsors a presentation package will be sent for your class ahead of time, it might include things like postcards or photographs of bears for each student, stickers, bear coloring sheets/word searches, or maybe even a bear puzzle for your classroom.

For the Love of Bears presentations are intended to be informative and inspiring while opening the imagination of students to the world outside of their classroom. All of our presenters have spent countless hours around wild bears and have compelling stories to share alongside the powerful photographs and videos of wild bears.

It is never our goal to evangelize, our belief is that through education we can promote good behaviors that help reduce human-bear conflict. Through conservation, education, research, and advocacy we seek to safeguard the future of bears.

With bears living in nearly every state we have our work cut out for us as we aim to protect bears and their habitat. Whether one calls bear country home or is simply visiting, special precautions are needed to keep both humans and bears safe. Our aim is to not just educate hikers, campers, hunters, photographers, and those who pursue recreation in the bear’s backyard, but to also inspire those who call buffer zones home to stay Cleaned Up For the Love of Bears.

Let us Zoom with your classroom?

For the Love of Bears has an advisory board of dedicated volunteers who collectively have XXX years of experience in classrooms. Together we have made 30 and 60 minute presentations for a variety of grade levels. These presentations allow time for students to ask questions, and to hear first hand from teachers and professionals with personal experience in the wild with bears.

The team at For the Love of Bears make several trips each year with the focus of gathering new and exciting content of bears from around North America. And we bring that to your students for free.
